Christmas Bonfire at Evergreen Plantation

Every year during the Christmas Season, the families along the river step back in time to a bygone era when bonfires along the Mississippi lit the way for Papa Noël. Enjoy the magic of this tradition with your family and friends at Evergreen Plantation.

The night begins with a buggy ride to the “Big House” and its dependencies decorated in Creole Christmas dress. After a candle light tour, proceed back to the buggy for a ride down an allee of 200 year old oaks to visit twenty-two slave cabins in their original double row configuration, and then back up to the Victorian House restaurant. There you will enjoy traditional drinks and hors d’ oeuvres followed by chicken andouille gumbo.

End the evening lighting the bonfire for Papa Noël and gracing your pallet with Creole Christmas Deserts.
